YVR New Runway?

Tue Oct 31, 2000 12:13 pm

I just herd from my family in B.C that YVR is building another runway towards the city of Vancouver. Can someone please tell me if its a pairrel 26-8 or a pairrel 30-12. Also please include a map of YVR and show me where its going. I am very interested in this. Thanks for your time.

Hi There
I live in the Vancouver area and 8R/26L was just built about 4 or 5 years ago giving YVR 3 operational runways. I doubt they'll be building one any time soon because they don't need it. I also haven't heard anything on the local news stations...

Like Flyguy said, they just built 8R/26L not too long ago.
This runway is only operational on landings at the moment.
Maybe they are opening it up for take-offs soon.
Check out www.yvr.ca if you need information on YVR.

Hi there,
I live in Winnipeg. My uncles lives in Victoria and commutes to Vancouver on a regular bases. He noticed that they were building another runway pairrel to 26R-8L to the north of that going east-west. Citizens of Richmond, and Vancouver are complaining about it. I will be arriving in YVR in December for a brief stop over and comming back I have 2 hours to spot. Thanks for your time

YWG777, I'm not sure what your uncle is noticing. I go by the Arthur Laing Bridge everyday, and I see no activity going on north of 26R-08L. As for citizens complaining, they're complaining about 26R-08L. Maybe when I go home, I try and see what's happening.

Thanks Allee. Just try to notice it. When I come to YVR in a few months I will have a look for my self. Is there a back road leading onto the approach to 26R? Cause if there is then you can look at it from close up. Yeah I know the Arthur Laing Bridge I have been on it before it leads of the freeway 99 if I am right into Vancouver or is that the other bridge on the south side of Sea Island.
If you like you all could e-mail me your thoughts that way
