CO 777's

Wed Nov 01, 2000 1:59 pm

According to the Boeing web site, the 777-200ER seats 320 passengers in a 3 class layout. Continental has their 777's configured in a 2 class layout, and they only seat 280 passengers, 40 less than specified on the Boeing web site. Doesn't a 2 class configuration increase the number of seats? I find this a little odd that their 777's only seat 280.

This is because the pitch used in the Boeing example is only equivalent to BusinessFirst in First Class. Business class in the Boeing example is significantly less than the 55 inches of BusinessFirst. CO's plan seats less because they have more seats spaced further apart.
