Do you know the frequency on these routes? I dream of AA replacing all their regional flying with E175 from ORD. One can dream right?

The 2x Daily E175s on ORD-MCI are replacing mainline. So technically it's a downgrade.

Unfortunately, at this point they have mostly replaced Super 80s. ORD-DEN, ORD-MCI, and ORD-PHL have all lost mainline since the E75s were added. However, there are definitely upgrades too... ORD-DTW, ORD-IND, ORD-ELP, etc. were all ERDs/ER4s and CR7s before the E75s came along.
This is my signature until I think of a better one.

Perhaps in the number of seats but in comfort I'd gladly take a E-Jet over an MD-80 any day, i's an upgrade for passenger experience

Were these routes struggling mainline? Perhaps we'll see some of them be upgauged to a E90/A319s down the road when cross fleeting begins.

How does this explain anything?

UA has been operating E70's on almost all of those routes for a number of years. From a passenger perspective there's no difference between the E70 and E75.

So then technically a downguage, not necessarily a downgrade.
Quoting FSDan (Reply 13):

I thought ORD-PHL/DEN had been all Eagle to ORD. I must've been mistaken. (NOT the first time   )

I do just have to point out the the E-175 sure wears the hell out of that new livery! Great looking planes!
Quoting TWA902fly (Reply 16):

Maybe he just meant capacity-wise. It's easier to compete with a few more seats and a lower CASM than you had previously. Again I don't know what United1 actually meant, just trying to give the beneft of the doubt.

Possibly. I will say when I flew MCI-ORD on an MD-80 we were far from full. Then again, I would think if WN can justify 10 737s on MDW-MCI in the spring AA could support mainline on the route. Maybe the 319s will work. Are the E190s going to be mainline or Eagle?

Do you have a link for this? I know this is a AA thread, but I personally haven't seen anything saying this.

AA was historically all S80, 72S, or 100 on ORD-MSY. Eventually the route became all S80 and stayed that way for many years before the CR7's showed up on the route a couple of years ago. It became an all-CR7 route before the E75's took over recently. Hopefully we'll see some 319 service in the market at some point.

Just for comparison, UA runs 4X MSY-ORD and 5X ORD-MSY and they still offer mainline service on at least one, sometimes two, of the flights. Right now you can even catch a 739 in the market depending on the day of the week.
