United 742 Retirement

Thu Nov 02, 2000 11:32 pm

I read that N160UA and N161UA has been retired and will be stored at MZJ. Will the rest of UA's 742's be retired soon also?

I know N163UA will be retired on November 5th. I was lucky enough to fly on it last Saturday from DEN-ORD.

There are now only 3 747-200s in UAL's fleet! They should be gone by the end of the year.   I will miss the 742 since my first 747 flight was in one.

I'm sure Timobear is really sad. After all, he's going to have to fly something else now, the 747-400 or 767.
