Monarch A320 In IAH

Wed Mar 26, 2014 4:22 pm

This past weekend, there was a Monarch A320 sitting on the FedEx ramp in IAH. Does anyone know why it was there?

Also worth noting, on Sunday, the planes were taking off from rwy 27!

Quite a journey for a Monarch A320. Something different for you chaps across the pond though. Obviously not a large group if it was just an A320. Shame you didnt get their last A300 on the charter.

According to a report at Houston Spotters, it's an ex-TACA bird being leased to Monarch, also according to the report it's an A321.

Its an A321 former N566TA of TACA c/n 2553 to become G-ZBAI

Due to be delivered to Monarch tomorrow IAH-BHX, then due in service late next week after maintenance checks at new Monarch engineering base at BHX.

Another former TACA bird N567TA c/n 2610 due start of next month as G-ZBAJ

According to Jethro's there are 7 aircraft due in the next 2 months, 4 of them, including a new A321 with sharklets by the time the A300 flight to BHX takes place on the 13th April.

Hopefully some of these will be at BHX so they can be seen before going to other bases.
