Two new airlines are coming soon that I think will give alot of competion to alot of the major west coast airlines. National Airlines will have it's hub in Las Vegas and will fly to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and New York-JFK and plans to add new flights to Seattle, Boston, Washington and to all major cities in the U.S with an all Boeing 757-200 fleet. Also another airline The Coast Airlines will have it's main hub in Portland, Oregon and will fly non-stop from Portland to New York-JFK and Boston and plans to expand to Seattle and Burbank. The Coast Airlines will have an all Airbus A320-200 fleet. The Coast Airlines was at first called Air PDX.
I think these airlines espically National Airlines will give alot of competion to United Airlines (Shuttle By United), Alaska Airlines, America West Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Delta AirLines the major airlines of the West Coast right now.
I think Alaska Airlines won't get alot of competion but it will if The Coast Airlines will start flights to Seattle and Burbank from Portland. Portland is Alaska Airlines' second largest hub. Also if Pro Air expands to Seattle that will mean trouble also to maybe Northwest Airlines.
Pro Air is based in Seattle but doesn't yet fly to Seattle with an all Boeing 737-400 fleet. I think the West Coast is the hottest market for airlines in the U.S and alot of airlines from East Coast will expand to cities like Las Vegas and Seattle espically U.S Airways, Continental Airlines and Delta AirLines but at the sametime I think there will be alot of new airlines like National Airlines and The Coast Airlines. The Coast Airlines and National Airlines both have website if you wanna check them out.
I think National Airlines will do the best and will turn out to be one of the best airlines.
What do you think?
