November 16, 2000 is Qantas' 80th birthday!!!

Qantas : The only airline have no fatal accident in 80 years. (what a miracle...)

I will fly Qantas for the first time on 5th Jan 2001 from HKG to MEL as QF88.

Really looking forward of it!

Unfortunately Jim, Qantas does indeed have fatalities in it's past - just none with pure jet operated equipment. It's one of the most enduring urban myths around!!

Hi Al,
Just a question...where can I find reference to any fatal accidents affecting Qantas aircraft? I hear murmurings of a Twin Otter accident, but all I can find is non-fatals involving Lancastrians, Constellations and Boeing 747s.
I know some Qantas aircraft were lost whilst seconded to the RAAF in WW2.
