Mine has to be West Palm Beach; uncrowded, modern, clean, large enough to offer amenities but small enough to be managable. Then again, it could be the fact that I've always landed there when there is snow in Chicago.

Montreal St-Hubert Airport, because it's my local airport and you can see TWA, Delta, Pan Am and other interesting aircraft. They are interesting at this airport because they look out of place. St-Hubert haveing no airline service, it's cool to see TWA or Pan Am parked there. Plus we have the incredible looking B720 of Pratt & Whitney Canada.

I second LHR, great airport. My first tough is JFK. I know everyone hates it but I love it. From Saarinen's T5 to the most international carriers at one airport (in the Americas).

PDX, LGA and FCO are fun too. As for LGA, can you get a better approach?

My favourite is London Stansted (STN). I flew Buzz Air from there this past May to CDG and return.

This is a picture of my own, not one from airliners.net:

The aircraft is the one I flew to CDG, G-BTTP. In the background is an Air Botnia F28.

The layout of Stansted is almost ideal. High ceiling, bright and airy with an open layout that makes is very easy to find everything you are looking for. Shops and restarants are nothing to brag about but are unobtrusive and functional. The walking distance is minimal, an automatic train takes you to your gate.

Mine is Milwaukee, WI (MKE). Large enough that almost all major US airlines (except Southwest) have routes there, home to Midwest Express airlines, but small enough so there is easy access to and from the airport on the road as well within the airport to the gates.

My favorite is Washington Reagan National (DCA). Its new terminal is spectacular, a truly grand gateway, like the rail terminals of old. When the renovations on the old 1941 terminal are finished, it will make a great historical complement to the new edifice.

Reagan National is probably the most perfectly suited airport to its circumstances. The plot of land available for the new terminal was a terrible shape, yet architect Cesar Pelli produced a masterpiece of function and beauty. You can get to Reagan National easily by road when traffic allows, and easily by Metrorail when it doesn't. The views of the monuments from the air are spectacular. The airport has streamlined check-in facilities for both regular and shuttle pax; big, bright and airy departure lounges; big baggage carousels, and is very photographer-friendly. Walking distances from curb to gate are short, and baggage tends to reach the carousel by the time you get there or within a few minutes afterward.

National of course doesn't offer jumbo aircraft or international carriers My favorite airports for spotting these planes are New York JFK and Los Angeles LAX.

And finally, there's no place like home. There's no airport I care more about than Greater Rochester International-Monroe County, New York. We have a fine new terminal that's bright and airy, easy to use, and is finally getting some low fares with JetBlue. I fly in and out of ROC several times a year to see loved ones and it's always good to see the home field.

It's architechturally attractive, functional, large and busy.. and easy to go through... The train service to Amsterdam is fast, cheap and simple to use.. the shopping at the airport is better than in many shopping malls and the wide variety of airlines and aircraft makes it a plane spotters paradise.. no complaints from me
