Now there has been question about SIA Girls' Kebaya. Personally, lovely, never change, beautiful, a symbol world wide. But what are your thoughts.
Only constructive comments please and be mature. We dont' want the forum to turn into disarray.
Here's what I found on the AsiaOne chatroom where a Singapore Girl writes in. While she likes the kebaya, their are things that need to be changed. The shoes:
I love my sarong kebaya!
I don't think that the sarong kebaya uniform should be changed. We, Singapore Airlines cabin crew are trained to do the SEP (Safety and Equipment Procedures) in our uniform. The female cabin crew know how to swim, run, crawl on all 4, etc, while wearing the sarong kebaya. The batik sandals however are questionable. Although they are extremely comfortable, but I don't think that they would protect our feet in the event of an emergency. There have been some rumors going around for a long time that the company might change our footwear, so we have to wait and see. I am also so fed up with people saying that Singapore Girls only know how to serve, but haven't got a clue in saving lives. Yes, I have heard those rumors about a couple of cabin crew who froze after the impact of SQ6. But then again what makes people think that cabin crew from other airlines, be it Cathay Pacific, British Airways, United Airlines, Qantas, etc, etc, will not freeze when something like that happened to them? Even if it's true that those 2 people froze, the other 15 cabin crew were saving lifes, from the late Ms. Irene Ang, to Ms. Farzana Abdul Razak. And I am also tired of people attacking our uniform. I can promise you that I can move a lot faster in my made to measure sarong kebaya than in a 3 piece suit. Everytime I put on my sarong kebaya uniform, I feel very proud. If you take that pride away from us Singapore Girls, I don't think that Singapore Airlines will be the same airline as we know it today.
