This is probably the most uneven group of airliner types which we can imagine.
In one end we have the oldest, noisiest, smokiest, fuel guzzlers (CV-880) which are long time gone. And still they rolled and rolled forever at take-off and sometimes stalled and crashed at rotation (Comet).
And in the other end we find probably the only airliner which was designed and produced ahead of its time. A plane right out of the future. The cleanest and quietest plane ever produced, and a runway super-saver.
I will vote for the future: Avro RJ.
(Even if I have a lot of respect for the past).
