A post on a different forum (easy to guess which one) appears to suggest Airbus is about to increase a350 cruise speeds as operational data suggests the bird is more efficient at those higher speeds

That would be a win win for the airlines. More efficient so less fuel and shorter journey times. Will this be a big enough change to be noticeable one wonders?

If I remember correctly it was Emirates a few years back who said, that they figured out to fly their A380 at 0.855 mach more efficiently. What I don't know is if Airbus ever made that official. Similar thing seems to happen here.
Wouldn't the saved fuel be more in tenths of a per cent, anyway?

Agree savings must be small but any saving is worth it.

An Air Caraibes a350 has had an incident during landing at Guadeloupe.... pictures on twitter show a blown tire and perhaps mlg damage.

The episode supposedly occurred during windshear and rain.... The second time this has happened to the a359( TG had a excursion in Phuket). I know this may be a very dumb question but I will ask it nevertheless to our resident a350 pilots- Is this aircraft difficult to land in challenging conditions?

Hong Kong 1st #A350 MSN124 grounded with an APU failure due to water ingestion into the APU inlet.

I thought I would share this great video with you. An A350 attempts to land in strong wings (100-125 km/hr) before it aborts landing and performs an incredible go-around. Gotta say, those Trent engines sound like music to my ears.

B-LGA is back in service. APU failure was caused by fire-trucks:

And here it is arriving. It's a shame one of the fire-trucks squirted water into the APU intake causing it to flame out and the welcoming committee sat there scratching their heads wondering why the engines weren't shut down.

That was fast! (other airlines take much longer to put their aircraft into service).
Also, a quick look at the fr24 map shows a great number of A380s above the Indian Ocean right now (EY, QR, EK, SQ, MH...); yes, I know it confirms what we know, but still it is quite cool to see in real time.

Currently there is a LH A350 (D-AIXC) on it's way from BOS to MUC with a special flight-#:

The flight LH425 on Oct. 23rd was canceled. Looks like they had some kind of problems.

Anyone with more details?

Plus the updated wing twist and the Trent XWB enhancements, so maybe it can be a 3% or 4% improvement?

Maybe. It will also be the first -900 with the updated wing twist (from the -1000).

In terms of sector length who is currently longest DL,CX or SQ. I appreciate it varies as routings determined on a per flight basis as upper winds critical given ETOPS gives pretty free range on actual tracks. Suspect no real clear winner at present!

I'm not 100% sure but I think LH has switched their MUC-PEK flight to A350 two days ago. This would be their 5th A350 destination after DEL, BOM, BOS and HKG.
PEK will switch to A380 next summer.

Looking at FR over recent months I think that A350 has put in a fantastic on time performances and very high reliability. Hopefully AB will publish at Dubai some statistics demonstrating actual performance separating out non aircraft or power plants related delay attribution. A world away from when I experienced the 747-100 introduction in the 70’s ... well done AB, their support teams implants and operators ground staff!

Think that goes to SQ31, seen flight times go over 16-17 hrs. CX899 is more like 14.5-15.5 hrs. DL275 more like 13.5-14 hrs.
