I Saw UAL DC10 Today At ORD..

Sat Nov 18, 2000 4:00 am

Guys-

I just don't get it. Why the United DC10 is retired last October 30 ORD-SFO for the last passengers service. As today Friday morning, I saw DC10 arrived @ 710AM at ORD while I was driving to my work. Is DC10 is flying cargo right now? Where they fly from ORD to?

United retired all of their DC-10-10's in October. I think they still have 3 DC-10-30's.(This is for passenger service) They are mainly used for the Hawaii and Vegas runs. I think United plans to retire the last DC-10-30 in February. Hope this helps..

United retired the DC-10-10 Series. The DC-10-30 Series is still flying in both passenger and freighter versions. Passenger flights still operate to HNL and LAS, and probably another 1 or 2 destinations like DTW or SFO.

They should be around for another few months. I believe that in Febuary UAL will have all of its DC-10s retired.

All UA DC10-10 aircraft have been retired. N1836U is still parked out by UA Hangar 5 at ORD for de-icing training. Its titles have been removed. It will be gone soon however. We still have 3 DC10-30's in PAx service. N1856,57, and 58U. We also have 4 DC10-30F's in service. The DC10-30F's will be retired on Christmas Eve, and the remaining DC10-30 Pax aircraft will be retired on or around Feb 15, 2001.
