Fifties Aa 757

Fri Mar 26, 1999 1:57 pm

If you want to see some great pictures of American's 757 in the fifties livery, check out the May issue of Airways. It is featured on the cover and in an article inside. What a beautiful plane! AA should return to this livery on their entire fleet! The 757 looks like it was made for those colors.

You have the May issue Allready?!?!?!

Could you do me a favor. Look in the letters to the editor section and see if they are still printing any responses to the Reeve Electra Story they did a couple of months ago. I sent a letter in an am wondering if they decided to print it.

I did get a nice E@mail back from the editor. Stating that they still didn't have a firm date on the Electra when I sent it in.

Yep- it's still around. On Monday, it was used to recreate the first jet service at O'Hare- An AA flight to SFO. I have a feeling they'll keep it around to celebrate more 40th anneversaries of jet service.

I agree that AA should return to the lightning bolt livery. It would not be easy though due to the emense size of their fleet.

For those of you who have not seen the May issue of Airways (like me!), the magazine cover is posted on the Airways site: http://www.airwaysmag.com/9905/

I have only glanced at the May issue of Airways because I am saving it to read on my long trans-Pacific flight next week. But I checked the letters to the editor for you and I didn't see any letters related to the Reeve Electras.

Darn I guess they didn't print it. They didn't post mine in last months either. Oh well....I guess I am not that great of letter writer.

How Do I Get Airways?

Sun Mar 28, 1999 5:55 am

I have heard of Airways, but how do I get it? I can't find any info in this tiny town. And how much does it cost?

It one of the higher end aviation magazines. Geared mostly to entusiasts. they use a pretty good stock of paper for it too.

Their URL is www.airwaysmag.com
