Your Thanksgiving Travel Plans

Thu Nov 23, 2000 1:59 am

I know today is one of the busiest travel days of the year. And I was wondering...if you're flying somewhere for Thanksgiving, where are you going? I'm on AA2738, LAX-OAK. My flight leaves LAX at 5:56 pm and it's going to be a mess! So, please share your travel plans and have a happy thanksgiving.

Best Regards,

I am making a mileage run on CO/NW to reach Gold Elite status for the year.

ATL-EWR-CLE-IAH-SAT-LAX-IAH-CLE-CAK-DTW-ATL

8000+ miles, 10 segments, 40 hours

Dang, how much does this trip cost you B747-437B?
As for me, well all my family lives in the DFW metroplex so I don't get to go anywhere.

JFK-FCO in about a few hours   Love to get away from NYC during
these holidays.

Our neighborhood gets swamped with the parade every year, so we decide
to leave town.

MSP-STL-BMI tomorrow morning, 8:00 a.m. CST on TWA/TWE

Thanksgiving dinner with family.

DEC-STL-MSP Saturday morning, 9:30 a.m. CST on TWE/TWA

After these flights, I will be Elite1 status (equivalent to gold status on other airlines).

SN330 - my total cost is $171 plus tax = $219

With my elite status, I should be able to upgrade all the segments too.

Not a bad deal eh?

Upgrades came through for every segment except ATL-EWR. That baby is oversold though, so maybe I can swing some bump compensation as well.

Its shaping up to be a not too unpleasant day....

PS - For the benefit of those who think I am crazy, I will be meeting up with folks in EWR, CLE and LAX. So I actually get to visit friends too!

Went YWG-YYZ on Oct 6th on AC A319. Had Thanksgiving supper on the Sunday. Came back on Oct 9 on an AC A320. Both flights over-sold of course because of the long week-end.
