Row Thirteen...

Do any airlines NOT have a row number 13 because of the number's association with bad luck?

Yes, Icelandair has always had a row #13 on all planes.
There are many more airlines who have row #13.
On a SAS F50 I have seen 13 rows numbered 1-12 and 14. Rediculous!
Have you ever slept in hotel room #13? I guess not.

Hi!

I agree with Preben, row 13 is like having 13 passengers in a flight or the 13th. plane in the take-off line.... 13 is just the number after the 12 and before the 14! Just that!

One time when I was assigned row 13, it was supposed to be a window seat but I got a wall. Bad luck I guess!
Sometimes I go about in pity for myself and all the while a great wind carries me across the sky.

GOOD QUESTION! I was reading an ASA CL65 chart, and it went 12-14!!! No 13.

My house number is 13 and I recall my mother saying soon after I moved in that I must immediately remove the brass number from the front door and give the house a name, which is something of a family tradition. However, I left the number on the door - it gets polished regularly and is there for all to see. I don't have a hang-up with # 13. In fact any numerical bad luck I might have had, has involved other numbers.

I seem to recall that I have sat in row 13 on more than one aircraft, but because it was no big deal, the details are hazy.

SIA DOES NOT have row 13 at all - apparently, they have row 11, 12 then 14...

BTW, all SQ's Raffles (Business) Class start at row 11, regardless of a/c type and config. Difft economy will always start from row 31 onwards. (First class is from row 1)...

I am just getting my PPL. Currently I am a flight nurse. The emergency department I routinely go to has no room 13. You don't want to give patients something else to be concerned with.

AirCanada has a row 13 on almost everything in the fleet thats big enough to have 13 rows! (CRJ/Dash 8-300 are smallest that do) in fact they start the economy section on all the larger airliners at row 12!

Delta has a row 13 on it's MD-11s and 777s in Bizelite, but not on the 767s, as it only goes up to row 11!!

cheers, Phil.
