Ex-Swissair 747s To South African?

Fri Nov 24, 2000 7:17 pm

I´ve heard that the two pure-pax ex-SR B747-357s (ex HB-IGE and HB-IGF) currently stored (at Mojave) are going to South African soon to replace old B747-244Bs built in 1971. Is this proposed deal already through and if so when will we see the Jumbos flying for SAA?

Hi,

These two 747-357's are now :

HB-IGE - ZS-SKB
HB-IGF - ZS-SKA.

ZS-SKA was in service on the 1st of november flying Johannesburg - Frankfurt.

I hope they put them on the HKG route as I'm sick of the -200's !!!

Im really happy that South African got them. The 747s now kinda stay in the family. I think SAA has officially said that they will use these ac primarily to Zurich.
