I was also a little wary of just how much legroom I would be recieving with the "more legroom throughout coach". But, like you, I was amazed at how much that added 3 or so inches really helps. I don't have to request a bulkhead anymore to be comfortable. However, if you are 6'5", then you will probably still feel a little cramped.
I believe that AA's seat pitch is similar to United's Economy Plus, but with AA, you don't have to pay extra. I think this is a marvelous campaign by AA to attract customers and it's great for us loyals as well.
Does anyone know when the 777 fleet will be finished with the changes? I will be flying DFW-zRH on Dec. 30th.
