Continental To Turn Houston-Sao Paulo To Daily Flt

Thu Nov 30, 2000 6:13 am

Continental has filed an application to move three frequencies from New York to Rio de Janeiro to Houston to Sao Paulo, and has had that approved. This would result in four weekly EWR-GIG-CNF and daily IAH-GRU. Any comments?

Ishky15,

I remember on one of your posts a while back
you mentioned that CO had filed several
applications for service into Africa and
the near-east. Where did you find that info?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Honestly, I wonder if IAH-GRU would support
a daily flight. I guess they'd use one of the
new 67's on the flight, but I'm not sure if they
could fill it.

peace,

COExerj,
Considering that American operates sometimes two daily flights to Sao Paulo from DFW, one which is a MD-11, I think Continental can support a daily 767-200 service. American also has a much larger hub in Dallas and has connections in Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro, Asunscion, and Montevideo.

Heres the link for the Africa service:
