AA A300's@STT

Thu Nov 30, 2000 11:57 am

I was watching "Weekend at Bernies 2" when a 727 landed at St. Thomas and if you look close (it took me 2 times to notice it) in the back at two gates you see two AA A300s.. Where did AA fly these from? That runway is pretty short and I saw a 757 taking off from there and it had to of use maybe 95% of the runway and an A300 is much bigger.. can anyone give me any info?

During the late 80's and early 90's AA used to operate one of their SJU-STT flights with the A300 and sometimes one of their MIA-STT flights would also use the A300. During my time with EA I flew MIA-STT many times on 757 equipment. Back in 1976 one of AA's JFK-STT 727-100 flights was unable to get off the ground during a go around and ended slamming into a gas station at the end of the runway.

I flew on Airbus 300 on American from STT-SJU back in 1993. It wasn't that bad taking off roll about 4,000ft spare left 3,000. It was short trip and light load. I didn't like the A300 that much!

Probably because it was'nt a US built plane you did'nt like it, there is nothing wrong with A300s! Their better than 767s anyway.

Yak42 that was the funniest thing I've heard today. A300 better than the good old 767.

Funnier even than Me calling Continetal EWR an ass!!

(Still LMAO)
