Delta To HNL

Sat Dec 02, 2000 9:54 pm

Hello to all, On another thread I read that Delta doesent have First Class, or Business Class on their L-1011's from the mainland to HNL. Can anyone please give me some information on that? Also I will be flying to HNL this summer, and my aircraft will be a 767-400, and can someone also tell me if it will have First Class?

Im sure the 767-400 will have the standard three class config. of First Class, Business Class, and Coach.

First off, all the L-1011 tristars have First Class & Coach Class. Some used to have First, Business & Coach but that was a long time ago and only applied to some of the -250s and the -500s.

All the new 767-400ERs have a First Class section (domestic F/C - 40" seat pitch at 6 abreast) seating 36 pax and a Coach section seating 251 pax.

All Delta aircraft have F/C, with the exception of the Shuttle, Delta Express and Delta Connection.

Yes, the 764 will have first and coach, but no business.

Wazzup Spinmaster? It was said by AA737-823.

Heres what he said:

"Yes, both Blink182 and I were at DFW when the last DC-10 arrived, that flight being HNL-DFW. It was very sad. That was the flagship, and now they don't have one. I guess it could be the 777, and that is a magnificent airplane, but it doesn't have the character of the DC-10.

By the way, airlines are known to abuse Hawaiian passengers. That's because they're tourists- very few are businessmen, so no business class. So they pack us in like sardines.

Delta does he same thing on their L-1011's."

I just cant see Delta not having First Class to Hawaii.

I flew HNL-ATL and ATL-DFW-HNL on Delta a couple of years ago in First class. It was exactly the same as other US domestic routes on DL (except one of the flight attendants I spoke to said that DL used the "Hawaii 5-0 Club" hosties on HNL flights (ie: the older, more experienced crew) who really were great and much better than the crew on other flights). But the seats are a bit cramped for a 'premium' product on 8 to 10 hour flights to DFW or ATL - why don't DL put the Business Elite on those routes - the few people actually paying for First class out of HNL would flock to DL wouldn't they?

No airlines can operate their services without First or Business, and alone of Economy.....

All planes must be equipped with 3-Class services. Dont be funny....... !

While I am sure there are some airlines that operate aircraft in an all coach config on a high-density, tourist heavy route like that, I know that DL flies it in a 2 class config. I tried my darndest to get into FC on my trip there, but they did not have any openings for FF reward tix. However, it was still a great trip, as I was with my girlfriend on the way over, and she was my fiance on the way back!

I also can tell you, that even if the 767-400s are designed for intercontinental travel, they will still have only two classes. Delta on its entire fleet has 2 class configs now as far as I know, just the international planes have an upgraded seat for "BizElite" class, which takes the place of both first and business class on international trips.

Could you please elaborate on your statement??

"All planes must be equipped with 3-Class services. Dont be funny....... !"

I can tell you that no major airline makes any profit flying frequent fliers with their mileage redemption coupons from the contintental US to Hawaii. How many times has it been stated that there is no,-- READ "NO, NO, NO, NO business class on flights to Hawaii on US based carriers and NO,NO,NO,NO,NO Business Class on Delta's 767-400 Aircraft. Period. Period. Only CO has Business Class on 764 A/C. Can somebody out there besides myself and those who install the seats at Boeing comprehend this??? Maybe I'm getting tired of replying to xx year olds that have a hard time comprehending.
