How Many 737-700's For Westjet In 2001

Fri Dec 08, 2000 5:50 am

I've read that Westjet has just completed financing it's purchase/lease of NG 737's. Does anybody know how many are going to be placed in service in 2001? Plus, on which routes would these aircraft be ulitized?

The first aircraft to come are the GECAS leased aircraft. The purchased ones won't be available until 2003, I believe it is.

YYC-YHM will be introduced with the new aircraft, and YYC-YQT-YHM will likely get them as well (due to the range). I also suspect (just strictly my guess, however) that WJ may use the YYC-YHM route to add a YHM-Montreal leg (Dorval/Mirabel/St.Hubert, WJ#1 can you add anything about when and what airport will be chosen?)

Also, anyone know what the Boeing customer number will be on these aircraft, now that WJ is buying new planes? You know, the last 2 digits on the aircraft designation (ie- 33 is for Air Canada in the 767-233 designation). Any info on the 737-7XX exact designation?
