I think LOT will go Boeing. Just because SAir owns 35 per cent of LOT, and in turn Swissair is going all-Airbus does not mean that they are Airbus's sales people. Also, does anyone realise the costs of switching manufacturers like that? It goes far beyond the cockpit! You have to re-train Flight Attendants on the new cabin features and safety equipment. You have to re-train the entire engineering department. You have to re-stock all engineering equipment, right down to the nuts and bolts, because Airbus and Boeing each have unique parts. It would cost LOT, and inturn SAir, millions (or billions) of zloty to undertake such a task. The advantages of an all-Airbus fleet in LOT's case would not outweigh the costs required to do all the training and preparation needed.
I think LOT will go for the 767-400ER, with options on 777s, because once Poland joins the EU, and Poles have more disposable income, travel to and from Poland is going to explode, and the present fleet of 767-200s and -300s are not going to be sufficient.
