UA805, What Happened Today?

Thu Dec 14, 2000 1:37 am

United 805 from San Francisco should have arrived in HKG tonight (13-12-2000), however the aircraft dumped fuel and landed in Ancorage.

According to the HK Airport web page UA805D is now due in at 3.54pm on the 14th !!

What happened ????

It ran into some pretty good turbulence...

You can still see that aircraft parked at the gate for the next two hours, until 2030 GMT at http://209.193.48.89/hugesize.jpg?camera=2&compression=medium   It takes a while to load...

According to ualcargo.com...

N119UA was originally flying the route, but they are sending N121UA up to ANC to continue the ANC-HKG portion of the trip. IAD-HKG in 3 days... yikes!

So what's up with today's UA895 from Laguardia and Chicago. They're changing the code to UA895D and delaying the flight to tomorrow.

Does UA not have enough aircraft?
