Fuselage Mounted Cameras Cool.

Fri Dec 15, 2000 9:35 pm

Hello Everybody.I flew on a Condor B757-330 Last month and I was very surprised to see that on the overhead monitors they showed us both take off and landing live!I think there's a camera mounted someplace on the fuselage.I was not expecting to watch especially the landing because its very open for mistakes(such as not alligning the runway and last second corrections etc..) which pilots doesn't want the passengers to see.But anyway it was cool to watch the runway and approach. What do you think about the cameras on board from pilots and passengers point of view.

To what i have flown on, Cathay Pacific Airbus A340-300's have them mounted on the bottom of the fuselage, and u can see the nose landing gear, really great! I love seeing the smoke on landing!

ANA had them on their 762' can still see the window on the nose where the camera used to be mounted on ABX 767's. The windows now have photos of bikini-clad models in them.
This plane is built to withstand anything... except a bad pilot.

This idea is certainly a great one! I'd love to be on a plane with fuselage mounted cams, no matter if pilots land perfectly or with slight corrections.

I guess pilots knowing pax see their work on landing would "reinforce" them to try their best.
