United 727s Substitution.

By what aircrafts will the UA 727s be substituted? They have a big amount, around 90. Are the A319 arrivals substituting the old planes or will newer and much better than A319s 737NGs substitute them?

No 737NG's will be ordered. The A320 is replacing the approx. 70 727's left in UA's fleet.

Why do people keep thinking that UA will order the B737NG? They won't! UA hasn't taken a delivery of a B737 since its last -500 was delivered in the early '90s, and are more than happy with A320s.
Once and for all, UA will *not* be buying B737NGs! I don't care if they were owned by Boeing in the 1920s!

Who knows? I personally think they 'might' go for the '600' series or the '900' series

While United first ordered the A 320, it was out of anyone's expectation.

Furthermore, they putting A LOT of money in keeping the 737-200s flying.

It wouldn't surprise me if they order the B 737NGs anytime in the future. Remember, they ordered the A 320 not becoz it's better. Its just becoz the B 737 NGs were NOT available.

Just my opinion!
