To make the long story short.
Too many flights for LGA to handle.

To expand on Watewate's thoughts just a wee bit more: A few months ago the US Government, in their "wisdom", (talk about an oxymoron...) thought it would be a really great idea to allow airlines to expand service out of LGA to lots of smaller, underserved markets. The airlines said 'Ok, cool' and proceeded to pile on the planes, knowing full well what would happen, but wanting to insure they had their share of the pie before the bureaucrats caught on. So now LGA has two hours worth of planes trying to come and go in one hour's worth of time.

Too many planes, too many passengers, not enough room to expand, antiquated facilities, and a moronic
government policy that allowed airlines to add flights
to underserved markets using 50 seat regional jets.

An already crowded and dangerous airport has now
been made "accident ready" and delays abound.
