Your Favorite "Pretzel And Peanuts" Airline

Sun Dec 17, 2000 1:42 pm

Well, I have never flown on a lowfare Airline, but I guess Comair-Delta qualifies for the title of "Pretzel And Peanuts" because they dont serve meals. Anyway, what is your favorite low-fare "Pretzel and Peanut" Airline? Example, Southwest Airlines.

TSA. Because the pretzel and peanuts they serve on board maybe your last meal alive.

Southwest, AirTran and PA 3 seem very cheap and great serice too. Even though PA 3 flies to out of the way destination far from major cities like Boston, Chicago, and Orlando.

Vanguard Airlines. Great Kansas City/Midwestern work ethic and hospitality. And cheap fares.

Well, my dear American friends, you obviously don't have to travel on low fare carriers to receive a peanuts-and-pretzel service only.

Try flying any US airline on a flight under 2 hours of flying time, or any flight outside regular meal times (whatever that may mean), and they will serve you no more than peanuts and pretzels neither.

I flew ATL-OMA in First Class on Delta last week, and wasn't served anything else than peanuts and pretzels.

So, don't limit yourself to low fare carriers for this one...

Most of them don't want to admit that on flights under 2 hours, the only "meal" service is peanuts. It makes them feel better that they can justify the top dollar fares if they can claim "meal" service as well as the beloved "assigned" seating.

My neighbor just got back from China, and said that Air China had complete meal service on a 777 from Bejing to Xian (about a 2 hour flight). You're lucky to get a refill of Coke on a two hour flight in the US.

This is the Greatest Air Carrier out there. in my opinion Southwest Airlines is just Plane Smart. There Peanuts have a Special Ingredient included called SUCCESS... Gimme a choice of Southwest or Airtran, and I would DEFINETELY take WN..................!!!!

Air Do of Japan - 2 767-300s service between CTS ( Sapporo Chitose ) - NRT ( Tokyo Haneda ). Although no food / drinks served , and all announcements are made in Japanese - the service of the ground / cabin crews were excellent!
