747-400 Combi

Mon Dec 18, 2000 11:13 am

Hello all:

KLM operates 21 B744s, 16 in the Combi configuration and 5 in a full pax configuration. For KL, the pax version has a capacity for 436 passengers, while the combi version has a capacity for 277 passengers and 60,000 lbs of above floor freight. There have been less than 30 built since they were launched in 1989.

My question is this: Who else other than KL operates the 744 Combi? I know EVA Airways has at least two. Anybody know who the other operators are?

Happy Holidays,
Joe

Asiana has several as well. Also I may be mistaken but I believe that Air Namibia's is a combi, which would make since, because it was originaly built for Asiana in the first place.

I know MH has about 2 in service right now (I think they're 9M-MHL and 9M-MHN)... Also I thought LH (Lufthansa) had a few of them as well, or am I mistaken?

A correction to my previous post: there are 58 744 combis in operation, according to the Boeing website.

Sorry for this bit of misinformation,

Not to argue with the Boeing website, but I count 62.

Air China- 8
Eva Air - 10
Air Canada - 3
Lufthansa - 7
Air France - 6
Asiana - 6
Korean - 1
KLM - 16
Philippine - 1
Air Namibia - 1
Kuwait Airways - 1
Malaysia - 2

Email me for detailed list.
