Baltimore-Washington Friendship International

Fri Dec 22, 2000 4:20 am

A question about the past:

Any of you older members remember when BWI was named "Friendship International?" When did they change it to Baltimore-Washington International? Where did they get such an odd name as "Friendship International"? What was the 3-letter code? How different was the airport at that time?

Just curious.

I was there only once when it was Friendship Airport and I remember very little about it. But the airport code was BAL.
