Different Engines On A 737-200?

Sun Dec 24, 2000 1:27 pm

I think I saw a picture recently of a B737-200 which did not have the usual JT8D engines. I had never seen a -200 with the upgraded engines similar to the -300s/-400s.....
Is this possible?
Anybody know of a 737-200 without those long skinny JT8D's??
Possibly the pic was mis-captioned. (But it looked like it said 737-200 on the plane, a Lufthansa.)

What you probably saw was a 737-500, it's short like the -200, but it has the new engines.
