Thank you for your nice thoughts, Pty and the rest of you. I for one appreciate it lot.
Fortunately I am on Stand By. There are only three flights today - TIP, LIS and FRA. My airline cancels most of the Sked for the day.
Merry Xmas to all !

Thanks a million, Wishihadalife.
I just Wishihayou-to-get-stuck-at-CDG-on-a-Xmas-day due to the yearly AF strike on peak days!
For all the rest of you (I'm joking, you too Wishihadalife are included in my wishes), have a fabulous, safe, happy Christmas, and have a great year 2001 with thousands of airborne miles!
I'd better go back to work now...
Which part of "NO" do you not understand?

Thanks to everyone for their kind words. Andrew here from Singapore, working as airport ground staff for Singapore Airlines at Changi Airport. Even though I had to work today, I tried to spread the Christmas cheer to my colleagues and passengers. Drop by and say hi if you're passing through!

regards,

andrew

I actually think it would be kind of neat to work on christmas. I have flown on christmas day once, and my cousins left today for honolulu. Anyway, on the flight, which was a simple hour and half DEN-DFW route, the flight crew and the flight attendants seemed to be in great mood. There was just something about it, maybe the ambience, that made the flight so great. Thanks to all who give up their time to spend their holiday working!

No - it sucks to work on holidays. Period.

AI lost a 747 on Jan 1, 1978 with all pax and crew on board. Kinda puts a damper on New Years day for the airline after that.

Chepos-

America West Airlines, hence my nickname "Cactus"

Actually I'm off today, but the holidays are usually easy money. Most flights are not run and people who want to spend time with their families and kids will pay you to work for them. When you're single like me, you'll take that offer. However, I've gotten beat up by the Holiday rush on the days prior to today so I'll take a break and spend with family for once!
