Who cares about the PTV's? Here are some of the REAL reasons people embrace jetBlue:
1. price, Price, PRICE. They are 40+ percent cheaper than their competitors here in Rochester, NY. Their fare structure is simple and the same for everybody. Not only do you pay the least, but you know you didn't get taken for a sucker.
2. New A320s. When you live in a mid-sized Northeast rust belt city like Rochester, you quickly learn to get used to 20 year old DC-9-30s, 732s, and 722s. That's if you get a jet at all, and not a crappy US Dash-8 or 1900. I've had limited experience on the A320 (two German domestic flights on LH), but it was by far the most comfortable short haul plane I've ever flown on, in terms of noise, vibration, baggage space, and cabin dimensions. The newness of these planes also aids in their cleanliness. Also, one airline daring to fly new equipment to this old scrapyard sends me a message that at least THEY care about serving the customer, instead of taking his or her fare dollars for granted.
3. Destination. jetBlue may not have an extensive route structure, yet, but they fly where most Rochestarians want to go- NYC.
Come to Buf, Roc, or Alb and see for yourselves the dramatic contrast this airline creates with the (to paraphrase DCA-ROC Guy) "Big 3 Oligopoly" in every way. jetBlue is an airline that doesn't forget its customers, nor does it assume its own immortality. Seatback TV or not, I appreciate their service, and will be pleased to give them my business, unless they grow too large and start to suck. -Mark
