The situation with Continental's fleet plan is very fluid,meaning it's constantly moving to meet demands.
Last Summer the Amsterdam and Brussels flights were 757s and now they're 767-200s,I think Dusseldorf may have a 757 for the Summer and then revert to either a 767-200 or a 400.
They have Hong Kong and Buenos Aires on tap for next year and they are going to be moving aircraft around alot until they have more 767s and the extra 777s the ordered.Things will be fluid for another two years or so,when the Global Gateway project at EWR is finished they will have things in much better order. 2002 is when most of the major projects at EWR should be finished and enough 767s,777s and possibly 757-200XRs should be in the fleet to meet their growth goals of between 25 and 30 trans-Atlantic routes by 2004.
I would expect CAL to excersise some of their options for 767-200s and 777s,and perhaps a 767-300 order as well.Not only will Global Gateway at EWR be finished by 2004 but IAH's new Terminal E should be almost complete by then,and if any one read that Houston Chronicle Story IAH will be seeing more European flights by then like Madrid,Rome, and Frankfurt.
And don't forget Heathrow could open up at some point to CAL and then they would have to order more 767s to meet their schedules,they have asked for ten frequencies into Heathrow 6 from EWR,3 from IAH and one from CLE.
Greg Brennenman also stated in a article a month or so ago that CAL would add about one new Asian route from EWR a year starting in 2001 with Hong Kong,he said the next after that would be Osaka(KIX),then in no particular order Taipei,Seoul,and possibly Singapore and Shanghai.
So things are changing all the time,by 2004 they should have their International route networks in shape.
