I don't recall the exact date, but they have kind of ruined a great piece of music for me. I did like the version of Rhapsody in Blue where they used people and musical instruments from around the Pacific Rim.

The ultimate airline commercial for me was at the start of United's service to Paris. A kimono-clad girl twirls a parisol as she fills the screen. She rotates out of the camera range to reveal the Eiffel Tower as the music picks up tempo. Awesome!!!

The freakiest commercial for United was the whale swimming through the 747 cabin. Apparentlyit made a lot of people uncomfortable. Why was a cabin full of water? Where were the passengers? ...Really odd!

Happy New Year!

Rhapsody in blue....... I just borrowed a CD of that piece, and listened to it, but I can't find the UA 'theme' in it, I can only notice that they have similar style.. So do anyone know the reason for this ?

In a typical recording, the recognizable section used heavily by United is 10-11 minutes into the recording.

If you want confirmation, Oxygen, call United Reservations and listen to the on-hold music. As of the last time I called, it was still Rhapsody in Blue...
