1. PW is 2 spool, RR is 3 spool
2. PW has fan bypass on the outside, RR on the inside of the cowling
3. PW has fan and turbine reverse, RR doesn't ( not sure if also on the -400)
4. PW fan diameter is 94 inches, RR 87 inches
5. PW engine is longer then the RR engine
6. RR uses wide chord fan technology, the PW engine not as much

These are all I can remember

Sincerely,

One more.

7. The RR engine has a noise reducing exhaust mixer which the PW 4000 doesn't have.

1. RR is 3 spool, PW is not, I've read this time and time again, exacly what is 3 spools? post me to my email if you like 747

2. RR has a large cowling, fan bypass and exhaust all exit out one opening at the rear, where as PW has 2 seperate ducts for fan and turbine exhaust

3. RR weighs more

4. PW fans have a larger diameter

5. PW is more powerful

6. RR fans spin clockwise, PW spins counterclockwise

the PW and RR spin different directions and yes the RR is three spool (some kind of gearing system that allows certain compressor and turbine sections to run at different speeds and supposedly is more efficient)
you guys both won
