There's a front-page article on today's (1/2/01) Wall Street Journal about "Airline Regulators Fret Over Several Breakups of GE Jet Engines".

I just finished reading the article relating to the problems with the GE CF6 series. This engine has been a pain in the butt for some time now with numerious occasions where the engine breaks apart.
