Airlines In OSL

Fri Jan 05, 2001 11:45 pm

Hi!

I think it's a question for The Ticketor, you are in OSL, aren't you? What airlines from overseas fly into and out of OSL?

Robert.

Yep, I'm in OSL alright.

Let's see. Not many carriers have long haul flights to OSL. In fact, I can think of only one scheduled carrier, and that is SK (SAS), and then you have Air Malta, Pakistan International and Iran Air, which maybe qualifies. However, there are lots of good connections to intercontinental flights with different carriers. If you count the airline wannabes (charter airlines), then we have some more (list at bottom). The following scheduled carriers operate from/to OSL:

Aeroflot (SU)
Air Botnia (KF)
Air France (AF)
Air Lithuania (TT)
Air Malta (KM)
Braathens (BU)
British Airways (BA)
Coast Air (BX)
Crossair (LX)
Czech Airlines (OK)
Finnair (AY)
Golden Air (DC)
Guard Air (FB)
Hemus Air (DU)
Icelandair (FI)
Iran Air (IR)
KLM (KL)
LOT (LO)
Lufthansa (LH)
Malev (MA)
MaxAir (8M)
Muk Air (ZR)
Pakistan Intl. (PK)
Sabena (SN)
SAS (SK)
Skyways (JZ)
Swissair (SR)
Tyrolean (VO)
Wideröe (WF)

Charter (may not be updated):
Air Europa (UX??)
Air Liberté (IJ, not sure if they still fly to OSL though)
Britannia (BY)
Nouvelair Tunisie (BJ)
Novair (not IATA)
Premiair (not IATA)
SATA Air Acores (SP)
Shorouk Air (?)
Spanair (JK)
Turkish Airlines (TK)

Thanks for the info. You wrote pretty much. I wonder why PIA and Iran Air fly to OSL. Do you have in Norway a large community from Pakistan and Iran? I found the 2 flights are with wide bodies, PK A310 and IR B747 SP.

Thanks again,

Robert.

It's the same in Copenhagen, we have one weekly (two during summer) 747SP or 747-100 service.
But we have about 3-4 weekly PIA services....they are operated by A310, 747-200 or 747-300.
And what I have heard there are a lot of people coming from Pakistan and Iran here in Scandinavia!

Yes we do, especially the Pakistani community, which is quite large and many have been here for several generations. There was a big influx in the seventies (I think). OSL is quite an international city, despite it's small size (509.000 in the last census), which I like.

RE: Airlines In CPH

Right now I found 2 B747-300's weekly flights from Karachi and Islamabad to CPH plus a third one in A310 being the continuation of PK 751 KHI-LHE-OSL coming back thru CPH, and 1 B747SP weekly flight from Teheran. Apart from Iran Air and PIA, what other overseas airlines you have in CPH?

Robert

PS: I found a second weekly flight from Islamabad to Oslo (PK739), apart from that Karachi-Lahore-Oslo (PK751), both in A310!

Overseas Airlines at CPH:

Passenger:

Air Canada: 767-200 5x weekly to Toronto (daily during summer)
Air China: 747-400 2x weekly to Beijing
Ethiopian Airlines: 757-200 2x weekly to Addis Ababa
Singapore Airlines: A340 4x weekly to Singapore
Thai Airways: 747-300/747-400 5x weekly to Bangkok
VARIG: MD-11 3x Weekly to Rio and Sao Paulo

+ as mention PIA 3x weekly and Iran Air 1x weekly

Then vi have SAS flying to 9 overseas destinations: Bangkok, Beijing, Delhi, Singapore and Tokyo in Asia and Chicago, New York (EWR), Seattle and Washington (from May 2001) in the US.

Cargo:

Korean Air 2x weekly 747-200F
Singapore Airlines 3x weekly 747-400F
And maybe China Airlines Cargo from Marts - not confirmed yet!

That's about it...

...but hope to see more overseas airlines and routes in the future!

Hi MAS777

There's of course a lot of overseas Airlines doing Codeshare on flights to CPH - but they don't fly with own aircrafts to CPH and are therefore not on my list !!!

RE: Talking About OSL....

The Ticketor probably knows this, but the Danish carrier (forget the name) that took over OSL - Røros flights from BU - what kind of aircraft do they operate? I read somewhere it seats around 40, so that excludes a whole world of smaller aircraft....
Just curious....
