Air Trans At-please Answer

Mon Jan 08, 2001 12:30 pm

Today I was visiting my uncle on the north part of the island. The Town of Dorado is on the path to SJU LMM all of a sudden I see a huge L-1011 Of Air Trans At fly just over me. Does Air Trans at fly regular charter flights to San Juan (from what canadian cities???).Or was this an ad hoc charter flight.
Thank you for replying

Proper spelling for Canada's largest charter airline is "Air Transat".

Como estas? I can't answer you question for sure, but I can tell you Air Transat has been to SJU quite a few times before. I have a picture of one of their old color L10's taking off on Runway 8. My guess is those flights come from YYZ.

"Como esta" is significantly more polite. Perhaps you could be more considerate in the future?

Gracias : Cactus319 for nice remarks
Actually they fly in on Sundays from Toronto and Montreal -both nonstop L-1011 flights. The Toronto flight continues to St. Marteen.

Anyway, don't worry about it. I wasn't mad. I just plain didn't get it.

Just a little reminder that Canada 3000 is the biggest charter airline in Canada, not Air Transat.

Adair,

Sorry, but Air Transat is the biggest charter airline in Canada, not Canada3000.

Both airlines fly around 3.5 million pax. a year, but a great deal of Canada3000's flights are scheduled. Let's just say both companies don't exactly aim the same market, Air Transat being totally a vacation airline.

Just an example, Air Transat has 18 widebodies out of 23 aircrafts with the first 310 coming in, hardly suitable for domestic schedule service.

On the other hand, Canada3000 only has 4 widebodies (330s) out of 15 aircrafts but its fleet is suitable for domestic flights.

There are the facts.
