I was watching the TLC special and they said that there was a need for ATC's. What sort of Training is needed?

I think you just have to take the federal entrance exam, and apply for the job. If your score is high enough they hire you and send you to Oklahoma City for training. If you make it you have a job. I've heard the washout rate is high.

Can't think of the URL, but do a search for "air traffic cafe" and you'll find a great site...

If you can't find it, let me know...

One of the best ways to get hired as a controller (outside the military), is through a CTI training school. There are only a handful of them right now (UND, Purdue, Embry-Riddle, MNATCTC, Beaver College, etc...). Most of these program's have a 100% placement rate upon completion of training.

I will be going through the program as soon as I complete my Master's at UNOmaha, probably at UND.
