ATA does piles of military work, as does World. Over the next 2 1/2 months, the military is moving a lot of personnel around, both domestically and abroad. Expect to see ATA and World aircraft regularly at military locations, particularly over the next 2 months. (Also, you'll see Omni (DC10s), ATI (DC8 combis), North American (757 and 737), Miami Air (727s) and Southwest (which has been getting an enormous number of domestic movements in the past year, upwards of 200 missions per quarter, which averages over 2 per day, every day). Right now, World has 2 "rotator" flights: one from the US to Asia, and one from ATL-FRA. Their MD11s and DC10s pick up lots of "expansion" flying internationally for the military as well. ATA is, however, a leader in domestic and international military charter, using L1011s, L1011-500s, 727s, and, soon, 757-300s.
