Cameras In 777

Sun Jan 21, 2001 3:12 pm

Someone told me that there are actual cameras outside the 777s, and the pilots can look at the outside views in the cockpit, if its true..
1) Are the views used to look at something important, is looking at the views part of the procedure?
2) Can the pax do the same on their screens?
This picture caught my eye, if you look at the screen in the middle right behind the throttles it looks like there is a video or somethng but then again its a night shot, so what do they see outside??

The -300s have cameras underneath the fuselage to help in taxiing.
