KLM Luggage Problems

Mon Jan 22, 2001 6:06 pm

Hi!

I've heard a lot about KLM's problem with their luggage management.
I have to fly KLM in two weeks to Sapporo.
(no choice: KLM is the sole airline from Europe to Sapporo)
I'm worried about it. I don't want to lose my luggage.
Do you know more about these problems?

Thank you

Hi

At work, we have had the odd problem with missing luggage and it has always been KLM.

I did have a problem myself last year, not KLM but KLMuk.

Due to a tight connetion for a flight to ABZ the luggage did not make it home till the following morning. Delivered direct to my door my KLMuk staff!!

I would not worry about it. Just make sure your luggage is well labelled and secured tightly.

I also stick an A4 piece of paper on top of the contents of the luggage with my address on it, in the event of it going missing.

Don't worry  Smile

Don't worry. I have found the KLM service in case of delayed or missing luggage excellent. I travelled to London on KLM in December last year. My luggage was missing when I arrived but it was found somewhere in Europe and delivered to my hotel the same night !!

I have heard the same thing about luggage getting missing and a friend of mine lost his video camera stand after flight from AMS to Nairobi but got it couple of days later. I would not be worried about it anyway, you would surely get your luggage after a while, in the worst case.
Have a nice flight!

Do not worry... what is there to worry about... KLM is one of the best airlines in the world! I have been there a couple of times and the worst thing that has ever happened to me with this airline is a 7 hour wait for another KLM flight to ATH. I have never lost my luggage! So hopefully... and im pretty sure youre not going to lose your luggage!

I think that if you are that worried about your luggage pick another airline. KLM is not your only option to fly to CTS.

Instead of

Paris - Amsterdam - Chitose (KLM)

try

Paris - Seoul - Chitose (Korean Airlines)
Paris - Osaka/Tokyo - Chitose (Japan Airlines)

No need to worry there, we try to get all the baggage where they belong. KLM is one of the best airlines of the world. Not everyone's baggage is lost. So I wouldn't worry. I hope you have a pleasant, safe flight on KLM.
