LAS...the Best View Is From Your Room!

Thu Jan 25, 2001 9:44 am

In Las Vegas, we stayed in a Suit and the person said the view was not so great.....I didn't go back and tell her it was the best view, because we faced LAS. I could sit in the window seat of this MGM Grand Suit and watch untill my hearts content. Anybody stayed at Mandalay Bay??? Hows the view?

Please let me know your favourate Hotel for the view.

We stayed once at Excalibur, and we had a room with a view which faced directly at McCarren airport. Great stuff, we were way up on the upper floors too, fourth from the top.

I stayed at MGM Grand back in 1995 on the 26th floor facing the airport. What a "Grand" view it was....
I am anxious to go back, but of course I'll have nothing less than the MGM Grand (though I hear there are quite a few luxury hotels that have popped up since I was last there).

Mandalay Bay - THE VIEW IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT...
You look down over the airport. The planes seem to fly close enough to catch. You can see just about all the action. But you have to get into the right wing of the 'Bay'... unfortuneatly I dno't remember which wing it was. If you ask, I'm sure they'll tell you.

Kindest Regards,

I have stayed at the Luxor Pyramid and have had a wonderful view of the airport. You need to request a room on floor 14 or higher.

I stayed at a hotel adjacent to ATL two summers ago, I know the feeling, it's like a balcony seat at a play, you can sit and see it all!!!!! And the great thing about it is the show is going on 24/7.....anytime you want to watch!

I also stayed in a suite at MGM with a great view of the airport. It was a nice corner suite on the second floor from the top with with glass walls over looking the airport. I could sit on the couch in the living room and watch all operations at the airport. From the bedroom I could lay in bed and a steady stream of arrivals from the east. The best thing was that we were only paying $130/night for this huge 4 room suite! It was a special deal for the hotels first anniversary.

When I stay at the Trop or Excalibur I request a room with an airport view, my parents just leave me there and they don't have to spend money on me or anything, a great time indeed.
Have a nice day!

When I go to LAS, I don't worry about such frivolous things like that. I spend time at the airport watching all the action. I can do a Vegas turnaround trip in one day, as it's only a 3 1/2 drive from where I live.

On the rare occasions I do overnight there, you may laugh at me, but I stay at the Motel 6 on Tropicana, caddycorner to the MGM. Of course, I admit it-just as some of you are thinking.....a cheap bastard.......
I once walked to the terminals at LAS from said Motel 6 because 1. I didn't feel like spending the whopping $6 on a taxi, and 2. I didn't feel like waiting for one.
It's a long hike though, and not recommended unless it's at night, or early morning, or if Vegas happens to be experiencing an Arctic chill-which means the temperature has dropped to below 85.
Hey, it's clean. comfortable, and I wont get robbed. If I drove up there, I'll have my car available to go wherever I want. If I flew, the Strip is only a 5 minute walk, and from there, I've walked as far as Treasure Island and back.

The best view I've seen so far is from the National Airlines Headquarters on the S end of the airport.... also called the Vacations Building....

the breakroom overlooks the entire airport... when i was in there, i was drooling as I watched all these foreign charters departing...

 Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Four Seasons would have the best view (top 4 floors of Mandalay Bay)...

The Bilagio has a very nice view if you get a room facing LAS. Very very very nice hotel too!

Bellagio is also blocked by Aladdin and Paris...... not the best place for plane spotters.... you could even stay @ Harrahs and get a better view.

Hotel wise, Four Seasons would by far have the best view...
