Varig Old Or New?

Sun Jan 28, 2001 9:38 am

i was wondering which livery you all prefer. the old or new? i like the old livery better, but with the new interiors......they should have left the livery the same, it is much nicer in my opinion. also if u have flown VARIG internationally what did u think of the flight attendants?

I felt nostalgic when I looked Varig's ships in the old one.
With Delta, it was one the oldest livery still around.
This livery could be seen on the Airline's Convair 990s, Electras and Caravelle....and that is a looong time ago.
The new one is brillant, one of the nicest around.
Falcon....like a limo but with wings

I remember that when VARIG first came out with the new livery I thought it was hideous. I was truly dissapointed. But, I guess over time, it just grew on me, and now I don't think it's that bad. I have to say though, I still have no complaints on the old livery! Personally, I think VARIG'S World Cup 98 colorscheme IS THE BEST!! How about painting all their planes that way and making that the livery? I know they already have an MD-11 and a 733 painted in that scheme, heck, how 'bout the whole fleet??? Does anyone else agree with me?

The New One Is Pretty Spiffy

Sun Jan 28, 2001 2:27 pm

From the first I thought it was a positive update that kept some of the traditional elements while adding a dash of modern character...

I never liked Varigs old livery with its dull colours and very oldfashioned graphics. The shade of blue was awful and looked faded even on newly delivered aircraft. The new livery is much, much better. especially the new windrose-logo looks nice.

I think that they're both good, actually, although if they still had the old one I would have wanted them to change. The new logo and color combinations are very good.

I like them all. They are all very well designed.
The old one has a great retro-look while the new one looks extremely exclusive in my opinion.
And then we have the WC98-c/s and there is only thing to say about that.......it's BEST of all c/s worldwide.
I just love it. Enjoy these pix!
