BA To Spend Almost $3 Billion On Regional Jets

Mon Jan 29, 2001 7:52 pm

I got this of the net....
LONDON, Jan 27 (Reuters) - British Airways Plc is preparing to spend up to two billion pounds ($2.92 billion) renewing its fleet of regional jets, two Sunday newspapers said.
The Sunday Times said the airline was seeking 50 new jets, while Sunday Business said the number could reach 100. The aircraft will seat between 70 and 110 passengers on short domestic and European routes, the Times said.
It has contacted four manufacturers -- BAE Systems Plc (BA), Embraer SA (EMBR3), Fairchild Dornier and Bombardier Inc (BBDa) -- the newspapers said.

What regional jets will BA be ordering and what routes will they fly?
