I asked... A reliable source at East Mids says that there was no 747SP in East Mids last Friday - he says that the only 747 in on that day was N707CK which has a red/gold/red tail, and a red/gold/red cheatline down the side.

N707CK is operated by Kalitta. Kitty Hawk bought out Kalitta a while ago, but more recently Kitty Hawk closed down their international operations. Conrad Kalitta bought back the long haul operation with (I believe) just two 747s. Not sure off hand whether 707CK is a -100 or a -200, but I'm sure landings.com will tell you.

The Kalitta 747s visit East Midlands quite regularly flying for Pathfinder (used to go to Birmingham) - mainly, its car parts.

BDRules,

The Kalitta / Pathfinder flights are regular but irregular - i.e. no specific schedule. Sometimes there's been more than a week between them, other times several a week. They used to be done by the World MD11s but now Kalitta is up and running again we seem to be getting CK 747Fs all the time.

The only other "regular" 747 is the Cathay Pacific Cargo 747-400F. Its due in early Thursday mornings (7:00 ish I think) for a couple of hours, or should be. First one just over two weeks ago got delayed by fog in Delhi and didn't make it to East Mids, second one just over a week ago made it - first visit of a 744F - and the one last Thursday diverted to Manchester due fog at East Mids. The service is currently planned to run until the end of March 2001, when in theory it switches back to LHR or STN.
