Mon Jan 29, 2001 10:10 pm

Does anyone know whether Aerolimeas Argentinas still operate the B 747? If yes, which model?

As far as I know they operate some P&W JT9D powered 747-200s that will be replaced by A340-300s and new A340-600s.

Any flight search on any search engine on the web could tell you within 1 minute that AR still operates. Really, you should try it once. Pick some obvious destinations, and you will find out that AR operates its B747 for instance on the MAD and MIA routes.

I don't want to sound rude, and I don't want to start bashing you, by why do you post easy-to-retrieve questions like this?

I get the impression that it is all about posting as much as possible for you. I mean, look to your user profile, and the comment you make there: MORE THAN 450 POSTS HAS BEEN POSTED IN THE PAST!!! Ignore the number in 'Total Number of Posts'

I really thought that quality was far more important than quantity is an informative forum like this.

I have done a search already. The reason why I am asking this question is that I CANNOT find the answer ok?

I know quality is more important. And please do not pick on every question I am posting ok?

Thanks!  Smile

If you go to any search engine for flight information and you do a search, it is really easy to fin.

I just did it myself: went to Yahoo Travel, and asked for flights EZE-MIA, EZE-JFK, EZE-MAD for tomorrow. I found out that JFK and one MAD flight are to be operated by A340s and MIA and another MAD flight by B742s.

Took my about 3 minutes. Real easy.

I am also almost sure that AR should have a web page, where you should be able to find far MORE information.

You should really try it in the future.

Guess what! It took me some 5 minutes to retrieve all the information you wanted out of this post on their web-site.

Just go to

http://www.aerolineas.com.ar

If you don't understand Spanish, no worries, an English version is available. Just click the icon on top of your screen.

If you are interested in the fleet operated by the company, subsequently click on the corporate icon on the left hand side of your screen, and select 'fleet'!

You can now see all the types operated by AR, among which, the B747! Click on the picture and you can even obtain more information.

Should you wish to know about the seats and cabin lay-out, absolutely no need to make a post about it on airliners.net... a virtual tour is available on the airline's web site.

Now, was that easy, or what?

I have seen an Aerolineas Argentinas 747 each time I fly into Miami. It is a 747-200 and i believe it operates daily to Buenos Aires. Nice airplane to sit and watch!

AeroMexico 767

Hi,

No, The AeroMexico 747-300 will never come true. Go to "Search" click and punch in "AeroMexico 747-300". You'll realise that the project never came true and never will. Expect to see the 767's as the flag ships for a long time.
