LAX-FRA On Lufthansa

Wed Jan 31, 2001 6:54 am

Hi, I'll be making this flight on Thursday. I'll be on the 10:30 pm flight on an a340. Anyone have any thing to share on this route/plane/airline. Thanks for any tips.

Well, I can provide some info. on the A340, but the only airline that I have flown on the A340 is Cathay Pacific. The flights are from HKG to CGK, and they are usually pretty comfortable, and nice. Even though I am a Boeing fan, I like flying on the A340, despite its extreme lack of power. I'm interested to see how long it will take you to get to cruising alt. All the CX A340s have PTVs, but I don't know about LH.

Well, LH doesn't offer PTV's in coach yet unfortunately.

But anyway, you'll have a very smooth ride.

Don't forget to ask for a cockpit visit or even jumpseat landing!!

If you ask nice right after boarding, there's a very good chance your dream will come true!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

After your experiences, show us your pictures and post a trip report, ok?

Best regards and have a nice trip,

Do they ever fly the 747-400 on this route? I know they used to.

AFAIK, LH has a double daily B744 in the summer and a B744 and A340 in the winter to FRA.

They'll start MUC-LAX with B744 daily soon.

Best regards

actually, LH is switching its 2nd daily flight to muc, so there´ll be a daily from fra and one daily from muc, both on 744s, at least this summer.

It's nice provided you fly with the wind...(ie. tailwind). When flying with a headwind, prepare for a turbulent ride.

Ask for the Jumpseat landing. LH is a very good airline when it comes to that.
Enjoy your ride.

I've flown LH A340 Newark-Duesseldorf! Enjoy your trip! LH is fantastic! No PTV's - but program is very well!
