Vanguard's/CO MD80s

Sat Feb 03, 2001 5:28 am

Where is Vanguard picking them up from? US Airways? Continental?

Another question...when is CO retiring their MD80s?

According to Air Transport World, they are picking them up from Pegasus Leasing. Where they came from before that is a mystery. My guess is that they are former Reno Air MD-80's that AA is dumping. CO is retiring a handful of 80's a year, but I think they are to be gone by 2004.

From what I heard they're from AA but not Ex-Reno's, look for the first of them to hit the skies in April.

For the record, CO has seven MD-80s on the schedule for the big 'bye-bye' this year. That will leave 57 more to go.
