A Drink Or Five?

Sat Feb 03, 2001 11:44 pm

Now I wonder - considering air rage, and all - which carrier serves the best drinks? A double-edged question I know. I hate plane drunks as much as anybody here. And though not a teetotaller, I believe very strongly in moderation. So a -ahem  Smile/happy/getting dizzy healthy piece of advice from anybody out there?

Hi!

Let me tell you something that happened with me on a flight from JFK to LGW with BA. I was with my family all together flying a BA 767-300ER, close to us it was a couple and the man was just a sponge, he would drink and drink and drink BAILEYS all the time. My older son counted at least a dozen, well he was ok ( I presume!!! ) no fuzz, no nothing, just kept drinking and drinking...., I think alchool as to do with people, some people can carry on a lot, some people not so much, some people have what I call good alchool, some people have bad alchool..... I personally feel that the crew mst have a control on that, the limit will be, lets say 2 apperitifs, 2 wines during the meal and one digestif, that's enough ( that's what I ask when I fly!!!! )

I like Royal Airlines for this kind of service, it seemed that when I wanted a drink, the cart was making its way down the aisle. No Charge too!!!!! For a small Canadian Charter, thats not too bad, too bad they will be gone soon.

CV 990 and Gmonney,
In my mind, you gotta be careful. But many people aren't. They drink too much, and make a nuisance of themselves. I suggest we (those of us who spend time here on the Forum) drink moderately.
Not drinking too much myself, I would still want a piece of advice. Whith what company would you fly to get the perfect drink?
Just the one!

Any Flight To either the Carribean or Las Vegas, you have to start the Vacation off right and for the trip home, its time to sober up!!!

I have (as i said earlier) flown to Las Vegas aboard Royal's A310, exit Row seats, Row 14. Great Drinks, the flight was at 4pm, just in time to wet my whistle, an get it going that night.

By no means am I an alcoholic, but the once a year or so that i do go away, i like to do it up, the rest of the year, I work crazy hours which drinking would be unfavourable.

Which brings me to my point about not drinking. At my golf course i see people getting "pissed" and playing golf at the same time?????? I can't understand it. Its only when I'm playing with some memebers that I would maybe have one if they insist, but it takes me the round to finish.

Sorry, back to the point, Royal, yes I would fly them to get the perfect drink to start a perfect vacation in the Beautiful Las Vegas, May this Fall again?

Thanks,

G
